Known for the You Tube video of him jumping out of the pull. Gilbert is an athletic defensive tackle has the potential to be a good interior pass rusher alongside Tommie Harris. Also solid against the run.

Strengths Fast rising DE/DT coming off of an excellenr senior season, Shrine game and combine. Had 22 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks as a senior after having 9.0 sacks during his junior and senior years combined. Tremendous athlete for a man his size. Fastest 40 among defensive linemen and ranked among the leaders in the vertical jump. Versatility is a major plus as he can play DE and DT. Many are projecting him as a 3-4 DE because of his size. Has long arms to block passes. Good tackler. He is quick off the ball and projects as a better pass rusher inside than out. Solid against the run. Co-Defensive player of the year in the WAC in 2008. He is more than a workout warrior based on how he has progressed throughout 2008 and into the combine.

Weaknesses There were concerns about his motor prior to his senior year. Has had trouble shedding blockers. Does he have a true position.
