Draft Result Drafted in the 2009 Draft by the Miami Dolphins in the 2nd round with the #29 pick.
Smith along with Vontae Davis give the Dolphins a hard hitting and versatile secondary

Strengths Tremendous and rare height for a cornerback. A big strong physical corner who kept Julio Jones in check during the 2009 Sugar Bowl. Has good coverage instincts and ball skills and is willing to support the run. Showed better than expected speed at the combine. Would fit best in a Cover two or Press Scheme.

Weaknesses Arguably too big to be a corner and he is not esp. fast. He may be a better fit as a safety in the NFL where he can take advantage of his coverage awareness and physical style. He ranks as a top 3 safety but a top 8 corner.
