Draft Result Drafted in the 2009 Draft by the New York Giants in the 2nd round with the #28 pick.
The Giants have a good yet older offensive linemen. Beatty is a project and should start in 2010.

Strengths Flew under the radar entering the season but really moved up boards with a strong senior season. He is one of the rare athletic left tackle prospects. Has good feet and shows the ability to move laterally. Displays good balance. Good pass blocker who can move with pass rushers. Experienced player with a solid work ethic. Has a high ceiling and could sneak into the first round with teams like Philadelphia and Pittsburgh who will take a long look at taking a tackle late in round 1 after the top prospects are gone.

Weaknesses Needs to get stronger and has room to improve as a run blocker. Has a tendency to let blockers get into his body and can be bull rushed. When he gets beat he has a tendency to hold. Need to polish up his technique. The raw talent is there but he still has work to do. He is more about potential at this point. Up and down at the Senior Bowl showing a mix of the athleticism that made him a fast rising prospect and poor technique that makes him a risk.
