While many think Barwin is a better fit for a 3-4, he also could be developed as a DE. Look for Barwin to be used primarily as a situational pass rusher as a rookie.

Strengths One of the most fastest rising prospects in the 2009 NFL draft. A terrific athlete with an excellent motor. Good burst off the edge. Good awareness and tremendous instincts. Not only has a nose for the QB but finds ways to make plays in the backfield. After playing three seasons at TE switched to DE and registered 6 sacks in his first 6 games at the position. Could serve a dual role as a 3rd TE. Has also served as a reserve forward on the UC basketball team.

Weaknesses A bit undersized for DE. Has only played one season at DE and gets by more on athleticism and effort than technique. Needs to refine and add to his pass rush moves. May be a bit of a project but he has tremendous upside. Will likely be just a situational pass rusher his first year or two.
