Draft Result Drafted in the 2009 Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1st round with the #32 pick.
Hood was drafted to add depth to an aging defensive line. Hood in my opinion isn't an ideal fit in a 3-4 but the Steelers obviously think he will.

Strengths High motor guy whose talents were lost at times on a porous defense at Missouri. Hood is active on the interior with a high energy lunchpail style that should serve him well in the NFL. One of the taller defensive tackles in a gravitationally challenged defensive tackle class. Hood plays well at the point of attack displaying excellent quickness and above average strength. Has an excellent spin move which allows him to penetrate and get to the quarterback. Three year starter with an excellent work ethic and leadership skills. Had a good week at the Senior Bowl drawing comparisons to last year's energizer bunny Trevor Laws.

Weaknesses Tends to play too upright and is a tad undersized at a little under 300 pounds. After putting on 45 pounds at Missouri you want how much bigger he can get. Not great in any one facet of the game. Playing in the Big 12 he has not been forced to play against too many smashmouth running attacks. Could get pigeon holed as a one gap guy.
