Having Raji fall in their laps will make the transition to a 3-4 defense a much easier one. The top 3-4 defense tend to have dominant nose tackles who can command double teams.

Strengths BJ Raji had an excellent senior season showing he was hungry after sitting out 2007. In a senior class lacking DT talent, Raji's draft stock is on the rise. He is a wide body who can anchor the D-Line and play NT in a 3-4 if necessary. Strong at the point of attack and commands double teams. His strength makes him a force against the run. Uses his hands well to shed blockers. Quick first step allows him to get into backfields and re-direct plays. Solid pass rusher for a big DT. Had an excellent Senior Bowl week solidifying his spot at the top of the DT rankings.

Weaknesses A tad short and while you like your DTs/NTs big, weight for 330 pounders is always a concern. High weight has affected stamina. Sat out 2007 for academic reasons (redshirt) which causes one to question his discipline and mental toughness.
