Draft Result Drafted in the 2009 Draft by the Buffalo Bills in the 1st round with the #28 pick.
While the focus has been on the tackle spot after the trade of Jason Peters, the Bills need help across the offensive line and Wood should be able to come in and start right away at center or guard.

Strengths A big, strong center who excels at the point of attack. Tremendous pass blocker for the Cardinals. Makes solid adjustments at the line of scrimmage. Underrated as a run blocker. Smart player with an excellent work ethic. Can also play guard and does a nice job pulling despite his limited athleticism. He may not wow you when you watch him but he is a football player who finds a way to be productive. Had a strong senior bowl week and has positioned himself to be among the top 4 centers drafted.

Weaknesses In a deep class of centers, Wood does struggles when it comes to athleticism. Gets by more on brute force and effort than actual talent. Just like every other Cardinal, Wood's level of play has slipped under Steve Kragthorpe. In Eric Wood's case it has as much to do with the supporting cast as any other factor.
