Draft Result Drafted in the 2009 Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 1st round with the #3 pick.
While the selection of Jackson feels like a reach, it is proof that trading down will be extremely difficult this year. It also shows Pioli will build the Chiefs in trenches first. From a talent standpoint, Jackson is a prototypical 3-4 DE with ideal size and an ability to occupy blockers and provide a pass rush.

Strengths Could have been a mid first rounder last year but decided to return for senior year. An explosive player with lots of upside. Size and length are a huge and advantage against slower right tackles. Also has the ability to move inside on 3rd down to play tackle or to play DE in a 3-4. Some teams are looking at Jackson as a pure DT due to his size.

Weaknesses Had a terrific 2006 with 8.5 sacks but slumped to only 3.5 sacks in 2007. Not a natural pass rusher. More of a left end. Relies too much on natural talent at times. With improved technique, Jackson could sneek into the top ten
