Draft Result Drafted in the 2009 Draft by the New England Patriots in the 2nd round with the #8 pick.
Ron Brace is one of the best nose tackle prospects in the draft and can provide relief for Vince Wilfork and likely replace him in 2010.

Strengths Gets overlooked a little bit in teammate BJ Raji's large shadow but Brace is also a top DT prospect who will get nose tackle consideration. Excellent size at 6'3 325, Brace is a supurb run stuffer who is a force at the point of attack. Plays with great strength. Experienced player coming off an excellent senior season improving his stock considerably.

Weaknesses You worry if his success this season was due to playing alongside Raji (of course you could say the same about Raji). How will he play against double teams. While he has shown an ability to collapse the pocket he is not a very good pass rusher. Needs to improve his ability to shed blocks. Has not made a lot of tackles of course that is because he is a grunt type of DT who helps teammates make tackles by occupying blockers. The workouts and senior bowl will be esp. important for Brace as it is his chance to showcase his talents and get out from Raji's shadow.
